After a busy week at work it's great to jump into the car and leave the city far behind for a few hours. There are many beautiful spots situated within an hour or two of London. What are your favourites?
In your opinion, what is the best day-trip from London?

No problem, Bryony. Will definitely have to check out all those ideas next time I'm there!
I think the best day trip into London is to travel down to South Bank. There is so much to do there. You can ride the London Eye, visit Sea Life Aquarium, go on a River Cruise, watch the street performers, see a show. It is a packed entertainment district.
Oh sorry, I just realised that this was 'from' London', not 'in' London. In that case, a day out at one of Lee Valley's venues is a great escape from the city. They have lots of park sports, nature, and other outdoor activities for the family.
Well Bath is just west of London and is known for its History!
I enjoyed several day trips, whilst hubby had to work at the Laboratory of the Govt Chemist, on secondment.

I went to Kent Castle, Cambridge, & Woburn.
All were different, & good to see!

Next time, I'd take overnight two day trips, to enable more places to be seen!
