London is an fascinating city with an ancient and frequently bloody past. Many of its historic homes have intriguing backgrounds, and quite a few are reputed as having resident ghosts. What is London's most haunted house? What is its history and is it open to the public?
Many years ago when I was still at school, I was on a field trip. We were taken to Royal Drury Lane Theatre for a tour, and told that it was the most haunted theatre in London. One of the ghosts there was called The Grey Man; he had suffered from incontinence when he was alive, so sprayed lavender perfume around. It is said you can still smell it when he is around.
London has a very diverse and long history tied to it. It is not surprising that you would find a number of haunted houses given some of the things that have happened in this city over the centuries. However the most haunted house has to be 50 Berkley Square.
