Different countries have different views when it comes to the practice of tipping for services. I have no idea what is expected in England, should I tip while in London?

No one outwardly expects you tip as if it were an obligation, but that does not necessarily mean that they might hope for one. No one would make you feel pressured to tip or bad if you did not tip, and you should only tip if you felt that the service was worth it.

If it is a cafe, we usually don't tip, but if it is a restaurant then most people do. Be wary though - you should always check your bill before giving a tip, because a lot of restaurants stated that they already add a service charge (between 10 - 20%) to your bill. In such places you are in essence paying an obligatory tip and so there is no need to add anything extra.
