I think one of our most iconic landmarks is the Elizabeth Tower. Most of you probably think that you have never even heard of it, but if I say Big Ben, does that ring a bell (sorry). Big Ben is actually the nickname for the bell in the tower rather than the tower itself. It's faithful chime can be heard all around London, and the tower is usually the image used in films and photos to indicated the setting of a scene.

The London Eye is the best choice for any sightseer. Not only is it a landmark in itself, but step onboard one of the capsules and you'll be taken on a half hour ride with a view of all of London's iconic buildings.
When I visited London recently, the first landmark I headed to was the Tower of London. Other famous landmarks I visited were Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace and The Royal Albert Hall.
Have seen as many as possible, including a meal at Hatfield House, which was superb!
Loved my 'Jack the Ripper' Tour. Learnt much. Was interesting to see the 'Old Bailey'.
There are so many great things to see, you pretty much have to vacation there at least a month to get your fill of it all. I agree the London Eye is a great place to start!
